It’s a good thing salvation isn’t a raffle draw

During the past Christmas season, raffles on parties were always on the run.As my sister told me that she was a bit upset because she didn’t won the grocery raffle in their office I came to realize how God was so good to us that salvation was for everyone and not only the ‘raffle winners’ were given forgiveness and eternal life.

Could you just imagine how pathetic would that be of those names who haven’t been called winners in the raffle.I’m just thankful,Jesus died for all of us.Believe,Repent and continue to walk with Him in our daily lives. That’s it.We are saved because He just so loved us.Not because we are lovable. Not because we do things to earn it and not even we are the lucky winners of a raffle.

The real reason for Christmas

Is Jesus.

Not the gifts for you(it’s not even your birthday so its okay with or without it).Not the parties. Not the new gadgets or toys. Not even the food.

Jesus was the gift. The greatest, incomparable gift we could ever have.Imagine if we haven’t receive Jesus… we are all lost.Through him we can live a life in full not just here on Earth which is temporary but on heaven in eternity.

That alone is a wonderful fact not just a story why being thankful for the Father(God) and Son(Jesus) tandem is  one thing we can be ever thankful for even without the toys or gifts or food or parties.

Merry Christmas!

A strategy to finally forgive someone

Okay,I thought I was talking to myself here.I myself is struggling to forgive someone. It’s not that easy right? But as I was about to sleep last night after my prayers to God to give me strength to forgive, this went in my mind:

Imagine that person you cannot forgive will die tomorrow or today(sorry I know it was morbid).

Can you stand the regrets of not freeing yourself from the grudges?

Can you take  the  fact that the person died so sorry for what he have done to you and didn’t even know that you forgive him?

And lastly the most critical question that really made me have the big gulp:What if that person is your relative,a mother ,a father, wife, spouse, son, daughter or a sibling die without showing them that you love them?

The latter is I think most people who hurt us-our family. In a way they wronged us but that doesn’t change the fact that we share good laughs and memories and love to them.It is inevitable that they will  hurt us.

In the end you have to choose whom to love.

The sinner(the person who wronged you) or the sin(the wrong thing they did to you).

And this my friend what God did:

He chose to forgive.

To love the sinner and hate the sin.

Lessons to start and never stop learning

We came across different lessons ever since we are a child, going to schools to learn math, to read or  discover something from an  experiment. But these list I have came up with ,from which I have also thought like “hey, these are lessons that we know but takes  our lifetime here on earth to master”.So here it is.

To obey.

To be patient.

To forgive.

To listen.

To understand.

To give.

To receive compliments.

To be sorry.

To love(genuinely).

To play.

To laugh.

To rest.

To pray.

To know your limits.

To fight.

To speak your side.

To give way.

To be humble.

To control.

To say No.

To dream.

To value yourself.

To be grateful.

To please GOD.

Life is not just…

about having all the money in the world .

about having a hundreds or thousands likes on facebook.

about having the latest gizmos.

about  selfies.

about receiving stuffs.

about watching t.v.

This is what I think what life is about:

making money and give

spending time with your love ones

having an adventure that is worth remembering when you’re old or better yet a story to tell your grand children

being truly happy from a genuine compliment of your husband

eating  sumptuous dinner with the family

deciding to be happy

The list will go on but the best for me is

knowing God

knowing Jesus

know thyself in the image of Jesus how? read the manual of life:Bible

the latter maybe hard to comprehend , but just a personal thought :God is the author of life wouldn’t it be easy to live according to what He says?

How to please God?

This question is so simple. But the application is difficult.Easier said than done. You only choose YES or NO.So really how do we please GOD?

Here is the answer:

Obey His command.

One short sentence yet the implication is so big.So really what’s your answer?

If it is a YES, well you got to obey Him big time. As in all the time. All your life. You cannot say I’ll obey the other but the rest is not your thing. This is not a buffet my friend ,you got to obey it all.

I know ,I myself is having a hard time doing it.After all nobody is perfect. But that’s not an excuse. You know why?Because we now have Jesus.Through Jesus, God made it possible for us to change. The blood Jesus spilled cleanses us from our sin. Ohhh I really like the thought, the story of the cross.

So now we can change, how? By obeying His will.Same answer as to how to please God

But it’s hard.

Yes it is, but we are not alone.Jesus will help us.God will help us.Everyday we are under construction,we may go extreme pain on obeying those commands but it’s for our own good.Jesus himself suffered. But He was raised from death.

Okay I know if you first heard the story of the cross it’s too much to take. You might say I’m off the topic.I’m sorry I just can’t help it.God and Jesus unselfless love really moves me,on my personal thought is this: If God so loved me that He gave His son Jesus Christ (it’s John 3:16 by the way.)wouldn’t obeying His command will be our “act of love” to God and Jesus?

Not of fear because He is God or for us to break even.

Our act of LOVE.

What to do when the passion is gone

Start something! Of course it must  be something you are passionate before.

That’s just how easy to make your passion come back.Be it in cooking, painting, designing, planting or whatever. There will be a time in your life that you feel lazy on doing it but you can change that feeling by reminding your mind and heart the joy of doing you are passionate about.

My advice its just easy. For me it worked.Once you start something the zeal will overflow in you and the time you are doing it passed so fast for you that you are planning to do another passionate project again.

One more advice though.Stop thinking too much on how you are going to do it.Just feel the flow and you will be surprised that you are more than capable of what you are planning for.

From one passionate friend,

My number 1 fan

As I was seeing many celebrities on T.V,I marveled as the fans of these famous beings are willing to wait in the line just to get their shirt or notebooks signed by there favorite celebs.

And it seems that even their personal life like who are they dating ,as to where resto they eat, is so important to their fans.I imagine I’ll be like them. The celebrity of course hehehe.

Like the center of attention.

That every move or even my fart matters to them.

That everything (except a crime) I do will be appreciated.

Now I realize long before I see  the world, say my first “Mama” or write my own name on my notebook I have my number one fan. That everything(except crime) I do is appreciated. That He had a picture of me hanged on His wall .That someone was proud of me in every seems so little thing I do like picking up the trash or smiling at a stranger.

My number 1 fan

even if I don’t have 200 million hits on youtube or

even if I don’t have to tweet where I am now or

even if I don’t post the food that I am going to eat or

even if I am a nobody to someone

To Him I am a famous someone

that He boast to the whole heaven and earth

that He talks about to His angels.

I guess you know who’s my number one fan.And you know what He is also the president of your fans club.Yes, you! You heard it right. You have a fan too just like me.I guess were the same famous fellow in heaven.

What really matters in life

I’ll tell you something that will really make every decision you make much easier. That will save you time and energy and even all the money.

Relationships is what really matters in life.

Not your achievements or cars or houses.I haven’t heard a story of someone dying who would say “bring me my diploma one last time before I die” or”let me have my pass book and I want to see how rich I’m gonna die”.

We are all caught up on believing that if I do this or If I have this then I will matter.Nope those will also be burried under your tombstome. But the memories you have with the ones you love will be remembered, treasured and affect how someone will live.

So be open to interruption if your child ask to play with you or your wife asks how was your day.Call your mom and just say everything just like how you talk to her senseless things back when you are a kid.See some long time friend and have a chit chat.Say sorry to someone you’ve offended.

And most of all ———is your relationship to Jesus is that deep?

Yes.You heard me right.

Of all the relationships you’ll have , a relationship with Jesus is the most significant relationship you will have.

I myself before I have a realtionship with Him thought  that it’s enough that I know Jesus and just say everything I want like a child reciting her wish list with Santa.

But it’s not suppose to be that way.

You have to talk to Jesus from the heart like how you talk to a dearest friend.Believe me you’ll not regret it .

And all your relationships will get stronger.Because Jesus loves relationships. You can prove that by looking at the cross or to a more detailed story read  gospels on the bible.

That’s all folks!

You can comment here  if you want to start a relationship with Jesus. You know we are kinda close.I am very willing to help you with that.

What to do when you are angry

Being angry is one of my not so best mood.I want to share to you what I think can ease you to get through that emotion. You never what to say something that you will regret for life ,right?

1.Stop being angry.A no-brainer right?First things first. 90% of the time you know you are getting angry. You know why ? Because it’s you! You know your weakest angriest points so when the angry alert start beeping, its time to decide if you are going to continue it all the way.

2.Drink water. So effective,it can release tension and delay you saying words of hate immediately. It will also help you to analyze if it’s worth the effort to fight to that particular person.

3.Refocus.Okay I understand that water may not be available to the moment your veins started to sprout and your skin starts changing it’s color into green (google my description if you don’t get it)But… here’s the thing : refocus. What do I mean by this? Well it simply means think of other thoughts like your favorite place, food or your dream vacation anything from unicorn to powerpuff girls.Just don’t dwell on the thought that you are angry .

4.Get out of there now.If your imagination power in refocus don’t work for you ,well simply get out of the situation. If you are for example have a heated argument with a co- worker just go to the comfort room.Okay I know this can be a rude move but what is ruder than saying that awful word in front of him and other people?

Hope this post can help the world be a better place(sorry I’m so idealistic hehehe)If this list help you, congratulations! You help the world a to be  bettter place. One at a time huh.

Writing with sincerity,

Kristine Karen
